How To Shop For Cheap Clothing

If you like clothes as much as I do, finding a good way to get a discount is of paramount importance. Without cheap clothing, I would never be able to keep my look current and fresh.

Most people know a few ways to save money on clothes, but few people have a very systematic approach to it. Everyone knows, for example, that you can go to a discount clothing store like Ross or JCPenney's to buy some necessities – jeans, basic white T-shirts, and stuff like that – but a lot of these people don't understand used and vintage clothes.

Buying cheap vintage clothing is kind of a challenge – particularly if you live in a very fashionable city. It's all matter of picking out the right used clothing stores. If you buy at goodwill downtown, you sort of are faced with a mixed blessing. On the one hand, the stuff they stock will be cooler. On the other hand, the prices will be higher and they will be out of things more often. When I am looking for cheap clothing, I usually drive to poorer and less fashionable area. The clothes are less picked over, and the prices are much more reasonable.

On the other hand, if you absolutely must have a certain look, you might want to go to a vintage clothing store. Not all of these have cheap clothing, but you would be surprised – you still can find a deal here and there. The problem with vintage clothes is, if you have the same ideas as most of their customers do, you will not be able to find a deal. The in-demand items will be priced out of your range. Unless you really love a certain item, there is probably only so much you are willing to spend on used clothes.

Nowadays, when I'm looking for really cheap clothing, I usually try to buy it online. I wasn't into Internet shopping until a couple months ago, but one of my friends really recommend it strongly to me. He told me that, if you know what you want, you can find the cheapest clothing online. This is especially true if you know your size and are just looking for some basic supplies. I'm not saying that the Internet is the only place to get cheap fashionable clothing, but it is definitely a good way to save money on certain things. Unless you want to make it yourself, you probably won't find better deals than you do online.
